Celebrating the Wisdom of Mike Lever!

The wonderful Mike Lever from ‘We Do Real Yoga’ offered a truly excellent session, presenting the ‘Six Bodies’ with both remarkable clarity and profound depth. His teaching carried the unmistakable quality of lived wisdom, grounding ancient yogic philosophy in a way that felt accessible, relevant, and deeply nourishing.

One of the most insightful elements of the session was Mike’s explanation of the Manomaya Kosha, explored as two distinct bodies. This nuanced articulation brought a new level of understanding to the subtle anatomy of yoga, illuminating how our mental and emotional layers function both independently and in relationship with one another. It was an explanation that felt practical, offering clear pathways for self-inquiry and integration.

The session unfolded as a rich Satsang, gently guiding us to reflect on the world we find ourselves in and how the subtle bodies are evident in everything we do. Mike’s reminder that “we are all vibration” was not just spoken but experientially felt. Through shared practice, theory seamlessly became lived experience.

We practiced a variety of breath techniques, each skilfully chosen to raise and refine our vibrational quality. Mike beautifully linked each chakra (circles) with the corresponding kosha layers, allowing us to sense how breath, awareness, and subtle energy interweave. This embodied approach made the teachings resonate far beyond the intellect.

With great clarity, Mike then guided us through how Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga both support and nourish the kosha layers, revealing yoga as a dynamic, living system rather than a static philosophy. The session highlighted how our continued practice feeds this system, offering us a practical and compassionate toolbox for life.

In Mike’s words and teachings, yoga becomes a pathway that moves us:

·         from illness to wellness

·         from darkness to light

·         from poverty of awareness to the wealth of fully experiencing our Six Bodies.

Through the skilful and conscious use of Patanjali’s Eight Limbs, we are reminded that these tools are gifts, meant to be lived, explored, and embodied. This was yoga in motion: intelligent, compassionate, and deeply transformative.

Overall, this was a wonderfully insightful, grounding, and deeply enriching session. Mike Lever’s ability to weave philosophy, practice, and lived experience is a rare gift, and his teaching left us not only informed, but inspired to continue walking the yogic path with curiosity, clarity, and reverence.

Thank you Mike !
